Brewery

It has long been known that the beer in Biržai is of exceptional quality. This is evidenced by a beer bottle label preserved in the Biržai Regional Museum “Sėla,” dating back to 1811, when the Tyszkiewicz family took over the brewery from the declining Radziwiłł nobles. The label shows that the “Bavarian Beer” produced at the Tyszkiewicz Counts’ brewery in Biržai was awarded exhibition medals in Germany—the very birthplace of beer.
